How to Journal like a Pro

Journal Like a Pro

I have noticed journaling has become extremely popular these days. Good reason since it is affordable, creative, stress reducing and fun.

Since I know so many new people are starting their very first journal. I thought I would help. I never really done a journal post before so this will be the first of many.

I have been wanting to create a journal myself. This would be pokemon related but yours, of course, does not have to be. We can go on this journey together.

Make sure to follow me on Instagram and the blog so you can see the updates for my journal also. If you would like more tips then feel free to tell me down in the comments below
Be sure to send me photos of your journal notebook so I can see. Maybe inspire some others as well. Tag me on Instagram and use #JournalSupplies

Let's start with the basics (the fun part!!!!)

Basically, the only thing that everyone in journaling history has in common is their materials. What goes into a journal, is all up to the individual.

  • Notebooks
  • Colored Pens
  • Colored Markers
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Stickers
  • Stamps
  • Pencil
  • Ruler

These are the main materials that go into journaling. You can really get any material you want since it is your own creation. Fabric, washi tape... The list goes on and on

   Getting Started on your journal

Getting to pick which notebooks you want was fun, yes, but getting started on the journal is way more fun.

This part is all up to you.

My plan is writing Pokemon Go on the front cover of my journal that way I can know what this book is for.

The next page will be a list of all the Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 Pokemon currently in the game. I will put a check mark next to those I have, that way I know who I still need to get (which is a bunch, slow player)

I can then trace on the next few pages some of my favorite Pokemon including Rowlett and Mewtwo. I figured once I get a printer, I can print photos of some to add to my journal. I do have lots planned out for it. I will keep you posted.

Be sure to check out my Instagram for my latest journal updates.

Frequently Asked Questions about Journaling

1. What kind of paper should I use??

This all depends on you. If you are writing more then I suggest lined paper. More drawing and bullet journal, I suggest blank paper. There is options for notebooks with both types of paper.
If all else fails then make your own notebook. Get a binder and paper and you are all good to go

2. What can I put in my journal if I don't want to make it a journal??

No one says you have to write about your daily life. You can always use it for special photos, receipts, magazine cutouts you like, bullet journal (basically a planner).... The choice is up to you. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable.
           Don't think, Just do it

3. How often should I journal?

This depends on when you want to. When you feel the inspiration to do so

4. What if I fail at journaling?

It is ok to miss some days. I have a 'journal' where I only write things when I wish to. My last entry was one month ago, the one before was nearly 7 months before.

Don't ever feel bad if you can't or don't want to do it every day. No one is going to judge you as this is your own personal project. Just do entries when you feel like it or when the inspiration hits

If you need some journal inspiration, then you can come over to my Pinterest and that may help you. If you need some more help then feel free to leave it down in the comments, or at my social media.  Instagram

    1. Amazing Birtt. Keep it up. I agree. Honestly if more people would start journaling then I can guarantee their stress level would go down 60%. I used to write on my computer then delete the document after just so I could put it out there and have no one read it

  3. I just love writing a journal and then being able to look back and experience these memories again.
